Many attorneys charge for the initial consultation with clients. However, we believe that prospective clients should not have to pay to speak with an attorney just to ask a few general questions.

After all, many of our clients have just lost their jobs and are wondering how they will pay their rent or mortgage and other crucial expenses. Someone in that situation should not have to worry about paying an attorney just to see if he or she has a case. The thought of asking a potential client to pay $300 simply to speak with an attorney who quickly tells her that she does not have a case just does not seem right to us.

You should also be wary of firms who advertise “free consultations” just to get you in the door, but spend the entire length of the “consultation” trying to sell you an expensive “actual” consultation. Or, they might vaguely tell you what claims you “might” have in hopes that you will pay them to tell you whether you “really” have a case.

This is not how we do things. Our free consultations might consist of a simple five-minute phone call where we advise you that there is likely nothing worth pursuing. It might also mean a lengthy face-to-face meeting where we go over your situation in great detail.

If the facts of your situation do suggest that you might have a case worth pursuing, we will propose terms for a fee agreement and if you accept those terms, we will arrange to meet with you again, preferably in person, to start your case.

Every case is different, but we will always notify you if we think you have a case before we propose financial terms for representation.
